Virginia trophy guides
Virginia Trophy Guides are the state's premier guides for muskellunge, the fish of a thousand casts. When they asked us to help recreate their visual identity system and website we knew we had to include both the famous freshwater predator and the outfitter's punk rock sensibilities into their new look and feel.

We started our project with a brand survey and a competitive analysis to examine other outfitters in the mid-Atlantic. We also asked the crew at Virginia Trophy Guides to share some of their favorite brand identities with us. Logo design for outfitters is an interesting space for creativity because there's such a wide range of opportunities available.
With all of the patience it takes to catch a citation musky, we worked through different ideas, and visual approaches and sketched until we landed the perfect brand mark. Mixing an old-school whiskey bottle lockup with a hand-drawn musky, VATG's new logo catches the eye from anywhere and brands them as experts on musky fishing.
